Jonathan Mendoza is a Boston-based activist, poet, educator, and musician. He is the founder of the Board Bucks For Boston food drive and the Berklee Activist Network, and organizes for immigrant rights, campaign finance reform, and more. He is a 2015 National Poetry Slam champion with the House Slam of Boston, Massachusetts, has been featured twice on finals stage at the College Union Poetry Slam Invitational, once as a ‘Best Poem’ award winner, and is a proud Louder Than A Bomb Massachusetts alumni, coach, and organizer. He is currently completing a self-designed bachelor’s degree, Arts for Social Advocacy, at Berklee College of Music, and will soon be releasing his first chapbook, “When the Crows Come,” under Pizza Pi Press. This show in our weekly Wednesday series takes place at the Cantab Lounge, 738 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge. Doors for the show open at 7:15. The open mic begins at 8:00 and the feature performs at approximately 10:00. An open poetry slam in the 8×8 series will follow. The show is 18+ (ID required) and the cover charge is $3.
