Cantab Recap for Wednesday, October 2, 2019

Like any open mic, the Boston Poetry Slam offers an unscripted, uncensored, unexpected artistic experience, with all of the surprise of starting conversations with people you’ve never met. With all the possible variables, it’s great to be able to count on one thing around here: Tim is coming up soon, and he is going to take care of you. This thoughtful and far-thinking soul put together a series of his one-offs from past open mics for a fresh look at our own familiar worries, transitions, and unusual joys. Tim’s new chapbook, I Wrote You a Letter, is available from the artist at– you guessed it– the early hours of the Cantab, our 8pm-10pm open mic.

Next week: Shira Erlichman was a member of the 2007 Boston Poetry Slam Team, a Fellow at the Vermont Studio Center, and one of the musical heartstrings of the nationally famous Whitehaus hootenannies. She’s touring now in support of her debut book, Odes to Lithium, a labor of years of love poems to the medication for bipolar disorder; come see her back on the Cantab stage for the first time in years.
