Return to 8×8 slam series

Champion of Champions rules and format

The Champion of Champions slam is an invitation-only event. At the end of an 8×8 series, all eight winners are invited to return for the Champion of Champions Slam, which uses the same rules and format as the 8×8 slam series. Poets may repeat poems from the open slams in the Champion of Champions slam. The winner of the Champion of Champions slam is declared the 8×8 season champion.

However, the Champion of Champions night doesn’t end there: immediately after the final round, the season champion slams off against the currently reigning Champion of Champions in a single three-minute round, scored by judge preference, wherein both poets must present a poem that is new to the Cantab audience. The winner of that round receives the coveted title of Champion of Champions!
