The Boston Poetry Slam presents The Encyclopedia Show: Somerville monthly at the Davis Square Theatre. Please note that this is the old Jimmy Tingle’s space and NOT the larger Somerville Theatre that plays movies! The DST is located in Davis Square, Somerville, at 255 Elm St. The area is most easily accessed via Route 2 to Route 16, Route 93 to Route 28, or the MBTA Red Line (Davis stop).
The entrance to the the Theatre is next to The Foundry, through an unmarked wooden door underneath the large Davis Square Theatre marquee. This door is illuminated by a white lantern marked “Saloon” –that’s the bar adjoining the Theatre.
There is street parking in and around Davis Square, as well as several metered lots. Meters run on two-hour increments until 8:00 p.m., after which parking is free: Somerville parking attendants are extremely vigilant, so be certain you are parked legally and your meter is paid in order to avoid a ticket.
