The Encyclopedia Show

The Encyclopedia Show: Somerville is a monthly themed variety show produced by Simone Beaubien and the Boston Poetry Slam. Franchised from the original show in Chicago, the event runs monthly on first-ish school year Mondays at the Davis Square Theatre (click for directions).

The event consists of a vaudeville-style variety show that invites poets, musicians, comics, and other performing artists to compose new and original work for an age-integrated, genre-busting, hyphen-and-adjective-packed show that is designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. Artists present on a different theme each month, determined by the order of the original Chicago show! Audience members are guided through the experience by the Show’s recurring cast and hosts, as well as assured definitive Truth at every turn by the Fact Checker from the Institute of Human Knowledge and Hygiene.

The following shows are scheduled for the 2012-2013 season:

* September 3: BEARS
* October 8: THE MOON
* November 19: THE VISUAL SPECTRUM OF COLORS
* January 7: EXPLOSIVES
* February 4: THE FUTURE
* March 4: VICE PRESIDENTS
* April 1: MYTHICAL BEASTS

We are pleased to welcome the following cast members for 2012:
* Actress, improv artist, comic and clown Aimee Rose Ranger as our HOST
